ARTIST STATEMENT

2005

China has very long history of calligraphy and qipao (traditional dress), yet most do not understand or appreciate the spirit of arts. In calligraphy, the beauty of the lines and stroke, the mysteries of color and the subtlety of the space in between characters, leads to an enchanting marriage with the beauty of qipao, of it’s high and low, tight and open rhythms. It is the art of the other world. Its spirit and transcendent world is yet to be reached by the people from outside.
