ARTIST STATEMENT

2004

Having lived in the heartland for nine years, Lei is increasingly intrigued by the interplay between the various facets: corn, soy, high tech, diverse and active multicultural milieu. The magnetism of this co-existence is represented by the meditative atmosphere in these photographs reflecting the dawn and twilight of our existence in this vale of corn. All integrated harmoniously yet seems so unreal.
